Hi All,
found this website while researching pros/cons of switching to QFF. Previously I have been using my Jet* credit card to earn flight vouchers and was surprised when I recently worked out that in the last 12 months I have earned/used $2400 worth. I started to wonder if my 'points' could be better utilised and have come to realise via this site and others that there is a much larger world out there ...and besides, theres only so many times a person should have to fly to/from Avalon in a lifetime...

Ive decided to go the whole hog and am currently in the process of changing over my existing credit cards. I started with the woolies card, which gave me (and my wife) free QFF membership. I also got the citibank platinum with the 50K bonus points which I applied for before I worked out you get better points from using an Amex.
I have a Comm Bank Platinum Amex they gave me with my mastercard that I have never used. I redirected my comm awards to qantas and have started using this as my main points earner... but my yearly membership is coming up soon and I'm wondering if it would be better spent towards something like the Amex Qantas Ultimate card.... :-)

I have 3 Jet* legacy flights coming up in the next couple of months, one to Townsville in August I used my last vouchers on, a $1 fare Newcastle - Brisbane in Oct and a $1 Fare Syd - Avalon in November. Keen to get my status credits rolling I rang Jet* and asked them how much it would cost to get the $200 Townsville flight upgraded to Starter Plus and they quoted me $282.. i didnt bother asking about the $1 fares, though I will be interested to see how Starter Plus works with them the next time they have the promotion...

The next thing I am looking into is a good hotel program. I was previously with Accor Advantage +, but dropped it a couple of years ago when they reduced the savings. They gave me an Aclub card, but it seems pretty useless to me...
