I’m 23C because I’m always in economy and on rhe.
I live in Perth. I travel domestically for work maybe 5-6 times a year and might go on an overseas holiday once a year or so.
I became fascinated when my boss guested me into the Qantas Club in Sydney about 3 years ago. I had a taste and wanted more.
My problem is that I don’t travel enough to get gold or silver status, when I fly out of Perth I get to the airport not long before the flight so lounge access is not really essential there, and on the way back from domestic work trips, my boss or work colleague can usually guest me anyway.
So I’m tossing up whether to pay for Qantas Club membership or make do with my few complimentary passes per year that I get through credit cards etc, for the few times I want to get into a lounge by myself.
In the mean time I may lurk around the forums and try to learn something while I decide.
Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to AFF.

Be aware that complimentary passes are not currently being accepted at Perth.

Maybe the infrequency can be converted to splurging on premium cabins on your annual trips?

PS. Welcome aboard

Welcome aboard!

You've come to the right place to gain the knowledge to be able to book your holiday in J or use points to upgrade your work sectors

Welcome :) @23C From another Infrequent flyer (in the grand scheme of things)

Welcome.

QF Club for the first year is $399 (joining fee) + $540 (yearly fee) = $940
So that makes 6 work trips and 1 holiday = 7 trips and approx 14 lounge visits = $67/visit. If you travel with a partner it becomes a little cheaper.

Subsequent years are cheaper as there is no joining fee.

You can join here as a Gold member and buy QF Club at corp rates so there is another discount.

However, you can probably claim the expense as a tax deduction so that helps.
