Hi, I'm henk. Have been part of AFF for a while but not much chance to join in. I'm based in Canberra, an ex aircraft engineer (QANTAS)turned academic and now have my own consultancy and I happily fly a Jabiru around South-East NSW when I get the chance. I do a fair bit of overseas travel as well as some domestic with QANTAS as I'm a QFF Gold member (at the moment). Am wondering if there is an airline with a FF program which will allow me to swap my points and move across or another airline that offers access to lounges even on the lowest tier. QANTAS appears to be the only airline where you can buy your way into their lounges prior to Gold. Any ideas on this?

Welcome to AFF henkE!

I do not believe there is any FF program that will allow you to move points/miles from one FF program to another FF program. There is Mileage Converter which will show you how to tranfer points/miles between FF programs (usually via a third party such as SPG) but the transfer rates appear to be poor.

As for paid lounge access Virgin Australia offers it. Search the Virgin Australia website or AFF forum for more information.

Thanks for the tips John, much appreciated, I'll definitely have a look at VA.
