Hi everyone

Eamon here, from Perth. I stumbled across the AFF via a web search for cheap business class flights, so thought I'd join.

I've recently returned from UK and will be travelling back to London and onto the US in August for 10 weeks, so any travel tips are welcome

Regards to all

Hi

Thanks for the welcome! I'm QFF Silver.

Not best pleased with Qantas at present so am chasing info on other carriers and their rewards programs.

Welcome aboard!

Since you're already a Qantas frequent flyer, you may have more options out of Perth, with Cathay Pacific, Jetstar, Malaysia Airlines and soon Qatar Airways all members of oneworld. You can also earn QF points with Emirates and South African Airways.

The only other major carrier is Singapore Airlines (SQ). For eligible fare classes, you can earn miles/status credits on Virgin and vice versa. SQ is also a member of Star Alliance, as are Thai Airways, Air New Zealand and South African Airways which operate to Perth.

Have you already booked your flights to London and the USA?

Hi esmoore,

Welcome to AFF.

Also depends what you want to achieve, do you want to build up status with an airline for domestic or foreign trips, or just after the best deals in terms of bang for bucks???

There are other options for building status once you hit the US much more cheaply than flying locally, so if status means a lot to you (everyone varies) you might want to look into that before you travel as well...
