Pardon the pun!
Just thought I should finally get my act together and make some attempt of a post! Do any AFF members use a wheelchair for mobility?

Do you guys have any experience with Airlines / Lounges / Airports?

Good, bad and otherwise in relation to mobility disabilities?( Eg. Using people with a disability as wheel chocks? Free Upgrades for Wheelchair uses?) Thanks for all the tips and tricks and wishing you all an Awesome 2015 filled with Bespoke Amenities!

Welcome aboard mrbarusti. I'm sure someone here will be able to provide share their experiences about wheelchair travel.

In the meantime enjoy the forum and please share your travel experiences. What we don't know about we can learn from.

Oh and yes I did think you were PUTI. ;)

No experience as a wheelchair user, but welcome to the forum mrbarusti.

I'm sure someone will be able to help with advice in your situation.

Just realised my name could be misinterpreted!

Just to clarify, MR (Mr) BARU (as in SuBARU) STi (as in Subaru Tecnica International).

Not no be confused with the modem term STI "as in downstairs infections" or PUTI "Nepali slang for female genital organ." Was a Subaru FanBoy and the username stuck! Plus the pills fixed up the STI years ago ;) JOKE!

Unfortunately most sources of info either relate to Economy Slumming with wheelchair or Bespoke without chair.

If you ever need priority boarding or express customs / Immigration a wheelchair is the only way to go (quicker than Airline Gold / Plat) I know a Dr that works at an Aussie public hospital that can arrange you a free upgrade!

Better get posting some better deals than that LOL ;)

Greetings mrbarusti! I have had a few Subies in my time (6 from memory). Great cars. Never had an STi (in any sense of the word).

When I first saw your post last night mrbarusti I definitely thought you were alluding to fact you might be a little bit tipsy when posting - I was going to respond along lines 'Well you will fit in perfectly here!' - then I read your second post.

I have a bit of an understanding of your travels in a chair - I did ret MEL-SYD with a broken leg a few years back - Yep you get a warm fuzzy feeling with the gorgeous VA fillies wheeling you here and there - first to board - but then last to deplane on ret took the gloss off it!

Hopefully your time here will prove beneficial - you can no doubt provide insights than no others here can.

Hvr, Thanks for clearing up my PUTI issues ;) Not up with all the latest Interweb Lingo.

My Legless comment had a double meaning and was designed to make people a little more comfortable in welcoming me as a cripple! Sometimes Australia can be a little standoffish to people with a disability but I knew this wouldn't be an issue with a worldly bunch like yourselves. I love a good joke as much as the next!

Was more likely my Dyslexia or Actiq lozenge consumption (Legally) that could make my posts look like they were assisted by Mr. Grey Goose!

I like you already Jessica, Subaru's are addictive, ugly but awesomely safe and super reliable. FHI ( Subaru ) has an aerospace division and a long tradition of making planes ( although some of the early models were used for evil:(

Always nice to drive to the Airport in something made by a offshoot of a Aerospace Company.

Anyway judge me by my input and not my bad jokes ;)

Don't worry, there's even a jokes thread on here :p
