Hi All,

The usual big thanks to everyone. Much reading and many tips has meant I've gobe from Qantas Silver to now Gold - for which I've noticed I now need tinkle more when flying - but that could be as a result of a few drinks pre-flight then during the flight. Oh well I'll blame it on the pressure change during the flight.

I have also tried to chime in where possible in some of the discussions as I appreciate we all need to contribute to ensure the community stays active.

Anyway, most of my flying up to now is work related - majority domestic with a a few Asia / US flights - all discount economy.

I am now going to experiement using *C to ensure Gold is retained when on holidays.

Safe travels to you all and may your (airline / hotel) freq. points balances grow and your free benefits come thick & fast.

Congrats!

In regards to the bladder issue, it’s becoming an increasingly more thought out thing before I board the aircraft, making sure I go in the lounge before I get on the plane so I don’t have to get up in-flight :p

Hi nonpop! There's a reason why Frequent Flyers often tend to prefer the aisle seats rather than windows .... :)

And yeah, I think the lounge has a lot to do with it.

Yes I now always select an isle seat and try to shoot for 767s on domestic runs (I have come to hate the 737 and will always avoid it where possible).

A challenge I have discovered is I also avoid checked luggage and will always try for onboard only. So in reality this cuts my time in lounge down even more. Rrrrrr - but having said that I'd rather just get home vs hanging around at the airport.

And with the bladder shrinking - may be it's in my head - but I do find I need to have a wizz even if I haven't had a few amber drinks when up in the air.

Lastly, I do recall last Nov when I became Qantas Gold and was able to use the lounge on my return journey, I proudly walked up to the lounge and didn't need a pass - just flashed the boarding pass.

But now I fear it will become a sickness ensuring I keep Gold+

Weren't you told as a child, "go before you go?"!

Has anyone noticed that Qantas seem to have stopped enforcing the "J class only pax in the forward loo" rule recently on 737s? That was sure a short-lived regime!

Congratulations. Wait until you really get the bug and try and attain/retain Platinum.

It is still in the announcements by the CSM though.

On the 737-800s they still velcro the curtains together so I think that they are still enforcing it in some ways.
