I too have been lurking around this site for a while - and have decided it's time to introduce myself. For the past few years I've been travelling every 12-14 months or so, mainly for hiking holidays - always using my Qantas Frequent Flyer points ( gained through CC spend mostly). As I travel on my own I opt for Business Class, and have been successful getting availability to my destinations ( Casablanca, Dakar, Addis Ababa, Dubai recently and Doha, Nepal and Hong Kong this November), though I always begin searching around 12 months out.

Up until now I've just built an itinerary as seats opened up, so booking the first flight online and then calling Qantas to add each leg as they became available, using Oneworld airlines and Emirates. This, however, usually works out to be more than the 240,000 Oneworld Business Award - and this is what I now would like info on for my next journey, which I'll be booking early Sept.

Cheers now.

Not at all Hvr, I'm learning as I go.... I used to try and just get the shortest possible route, but now that I've 'discovered' the 240,000 J Oneworld award - I'll try to utilize that for my trip next year.So brace yourselves for my questions!!
