Hi everyone, new member here and I just started reading the forum recently.

I'm from Perth and we're about to go on our fist trip to Japan next month with a 3 and 1 year old.

G’day, Phil from Canberra. Public sector employee (sort of) in a role that involves lots of travel, both domestic and international. Unfortunately my adherence to the govt’s ‘best fare on the day policy’ means that in the past 12 months I have flown both Virgin and Qantas domestically and Garuda, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Silkair, Qantas and Royal Brunei internationally. Don’t get the points anyway but except for the QF and MH flights, disappointing from SC perspective. Nevertheless, silver Velocity and Platinum QFF. I previously had that wonderful benefit of using status matches with Air Berlin, Turkish and Alitalia to have Platinum with each of the different Alliances.
Also travel internationally once or twice a year recreationally when the status becomes a real advantage AND my partner will now only consider Business Class so always looking for those ‘jewel of a deal’ offers. Travelled; Premium Economy SYD-DPS with Jetstar earlier this year, BC MEL-DPS Sep, SYD-CDG with Vietnam last year, SIN-DEL with Air India the year before. Still have flights to SIN and back to DPS before years end. Looking forward to taking advantage of your insights, wisdom and experience and will happily give back where I can 😃
