Hey all,

I was up until a few weeks ago velocity gold and booked a flight with VA to NY, however my status re-assessment occurred a week or so after booking and I didn't re-qualify, and got soft landed to silver.

I still benefited from the extra baggage allowance etc at booking, and my booking still shows velocity gold as the status, but I'm wondering if when traveling my boarding pass etc for this trip will say gold or silver. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks!

In theory, if nothing causes "the VA systems" to ask the Velocity database for your new status, you will probably end up with Gold written on your boarding pass and the luggage allowance will probably stick too.

However, lounge entry will require presentation of a physical card so you will probably not be able to get in.

Personally I wouldn't rely on it, but if did happen to work, then grin and enjoy it!

I have had the reverse experience.

I had made a VA booking to NY when I was Gold and subsequent to the booking I became Platinum. Everything about my booking was reporting me as having Gold status. At the airport when I checked in I flashed my Platinum card and the agent went into the booking, manually removed my FF number details and then swiped in my Platinum card and everything then was as it should be.

Isn't that the same experience? Your status changed between booking and flying, but your booking still reflected your original status?

Obviously enough, milkman should probably avoid waving their silver card around during checkin!
