How many floors does H-ADL have? I've just been offered on-line check-in for either 4th or 5th floor. Sounds a bit ordinary TBH, unless it's a very low building.

I think that's about a third of the way up. It's a tallish building by Adelaide standards...which means it's a lowish building by everyone else's standards ;)

Looks like about 18 or so from street view. If you get a room facing Victoria Square level 5 would probably be fine (but try for higher).

8 or 9 I think.Level 5 from what I remember had most of the suites.Corner exec rooms are slightly larger and have an extra side window.

There were 18 levels last time I was there. The Exec lounge is at Level 16. Always get the Adelaide Hills view as the "sea view" is too far out.

Swanning_it, maybe worth getting the Macquarie Hilton HHonors credit card if you want to get high floor as Exec levels are at Level 16—18.

My first stay did not leave the best impression. My preferences are for non smoking, high floor, away from elevator. I checked in and was given a smoking room on the 5th floor. Upon querying this I then moved up to a non smoking room, no water, next to the elevator on the eighth floor. I finally finished up in a Junior suite.

I was a HH diamond.

Thanks all for the prompt replies. I think I'll leave on-line check in and attempt a negotiation upon arrival!

Level 5 is too low, just leave it for tomorrow.
The hotel doesn't seem to be busy. Tried OCLI and was offered almost every possible deluxe room on levels 14 & 15 but didn't choose any as I prefer level 16.

I thought the same thing......just about every room on the 4th and 5th floor was available to pick, yet the prices they wanted for this weekend were just ridiculous.........perhaps that's why they're empty!

The prices arent so bad if you book 2+ nights (I'm seeing $179 as the AAA rate).

I'm not sure it's going to be that empty tomorrow. HADL are known for their relatively low rates but this time kept the price up so they must expect more guests.

Check your booking again swanning_it, you may be able to select high floor now ;)

That is surprising. When did you stay there? For the number of times I stayed at Hilton Adelaide over the last 10 years I always got upgraded to Exec Level as Hilton Gold, and with free breakfast downstairs.

It was a couple of years ago. The GM was very good about it in the end.

Yep, I got a pearler of a rate thanks to a tip from a certain AFF mod!! But that rate skyrocketed when another certain AFFer tried to book...even the two nighter! It must have dropped again.
