Real estate and hotel firm SIHPM, owners of the Hilton Arc de Triomphe, took the US group to court for "serious violations of its obligations" under a management contract awarded in 2003.
SIHPM accused Hilton of having under-exploited the potential of the hotel, which it believed should be a five-star establishment instead of four, the company's lawyer Maurice Lantourne said.
It therefore sought to end the management mandate for the 500-room hotel, according to the ruling dated July 5.

The commercial court ruled in favour of SIHPM after finding "breaches" by Hilton, and gave SIHPM three months to "proceed to remove all references to the Hilton brand" on the hotel.

Interesting....what happens to existing bookings and importantly Hilton Diamond perks? My parents have a 3 nite stay next month.

I reckon Hilton should have kept the old Hilton Paris building thats now the Pullman (? I think).

Anyway, its a blow. Only the La Defense property left in the city. I wonder if they will search out a replacement?

Stayed there a few weeks ago for $120ish/night. A great rate in a great city and was upgraded to a Relaxation Suite. I'd stay at the La Defense property again in a heartbeat considering the price being charged at the Arc De Triumph property.

Good point, the Arc property was always ridiculously priced. I've not stayed at either, but my googlemaps view had me thinking that the la defense property might be a bit out of the way? Did you find during your stay that you would walk out the front of the hotel and be "in all th action" or did you have to train from the hotel?

It sure wasn't "in the action" and it actually 6km from the centre of town but there is a metro underneat the hotel essentially. We had stayed a few night at an apartment "in the action" and actually preferred to be a little out.

As tourists though... how often do you go back to the hotel during the day? Myself, I leave in the morning prepared.. to come back just before bed :)

Just got an email from Hilton announcing the change. Existing bookings will remain if they're paid but rewards stays will be rebooked elsewhere (La Defense?).

I stayed at the Hilton Arc de Triomphe only last month and thought it was great. Possibly the best Gold HH welcome I've ever received. Pity to see it change hands.

Bummer, I usually use ihg group but always used Hilton arc de t in Paris - its a great hotel.

I can imagine this is going to put price pressure on the La Defense Hotel given it's now the only Hilton in town (and not at the airports) in Paris.

It can only be a good thing.* :p

The Hotel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomphe (Paris, France) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor

Interesting from one of those TripAdvisor Reviews:

"First off, this s not a Hilton property anymore. You will not receive Hilton points for your stay. That sad, my wife and I just stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. We booked with points but due to a legal issue with the new owners the points stay was not honored. We did receive a very generous room rate and all my Hilton Gold amenities. The staff was very attentive and the Executive Lounge is first class. The staff in the lounge were the best. They were almost like our personal tour guides getting us from the hotel to anywhere in the city via the metro."
