That is a great promo and I can't see any hotels I am staying in on the list of exclusions

This once only selection has been a facit of most of these types of HHonors promotions.

I presume its to improve revenue, either by reducing the cost of the promotion, increasing bookings or both.

Thanks for that! I've just signed up and have a number of Hilton bookings before the end of June. The only trouble is they're already booked. Hopefully it'll apply to them as well as new bookings!

Hmmmm, is 30 June based on check-in or check-out. The AFF mid year Xmas do at HSP is for the 30-6!

For Hilton, it is usually check-out at that end of the promotional period.

This has changed for promotions recently and for this one it different again: (Hilton HHonors™ - Frequently Asked Questions)

If I check-in before April 1, 2012 or check-out after June 30, 2012, do I still earn credit for that stay?
Registered HHonors members will only receive their selected bonus for nights completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends.

So by that one night on June 30th sould not be eligible as the 'night' is not completed withing the period - a two night stay 29 & 30 June will have one night eligible.

How they work that out I know not ... may be time to look over on FT ... as I think it my be something different.

Thanks guys...another issue.......which time zone! I know at Christmas, one of the promos finished the day before I wanted to book an additional room. The promo was still up on the Hilton web site (US 1 day before), but didn't show up here in H BNE computers. As it was advertised, H BNE did a BRG and matched it (and it was a considerable saving), so I wonder if this is 30-6-2012 USA time, which at checkout time (say 12.00 noon) on the 1-7-2012 EST time would still be 30-6-2012 in the US? Or is it all just done on dates (local)?

PS, We're booked for both Friday and Saturday nights so should at least score Friday night (hopefully).

This promo just started me wondering how others "double dip" with HH? I've always set out to earn as many HH points as possible since I joined in 2008, and am redeeming pretty well all 250k of them on points + pay stays this year, including 10 nights in Fiji in early June.

I've never analysed though whether it is better "value" to earn points plus QF or even VA VA miles ? Am QF & VA WP and now upgraded HH gold to Diamond courtesy of VA.

Double dip HH points + points. An airfare I can put up with a few hours of misery. When I holiday, I want luxury.

You would have to check out and move hotels to be sure of getting the Friday.

Good for me since I am spending most of April in Hilton hotels. Sadly there are some which are not participating. Still when combined with the cheaper weekend rates and and bonus points for 2+ nights I should get a few this year.

Thanks to DJ for the status match and giving HHonours Diamond with it. I am certainly using it.

I'll take Friday as a bonus if it comes and a shame if it doesn't. I was booked before this promo anyway, so can't whinge too loudly about it.

I have now switched to HHonors and QFF points for short stays but before I head off for a longer stay I will switch back to Points + Points.
