I land in HKG at 5am, flying J. Is there any chance I can access the HKF QF J lounge to shower?

The answer is no, unless:
  • You are transiting to another flight with QF (even then your next flight technically needs to be in J I think [assuming you have no status and are not a qantas club member]).
  • Or, you are Platinum with QF. This gives you access to the Cathay "Arrivals" lounge. There's more info on this lounge on the Cathay web site (ignore this one - incorrect).
So basically you can't physically get to the entrance of the lounge after you land unless you follow the signs to the transit area (which you need a boarding pass to go through).

However, after you collect your bag and exit customs there are a few pay-in lounges you can access. I have used one before and it was actually pretty decent. Quite handy if you need to have a shower before starting a day's work.

Access to "The Arrival" is only available to those arriving on Cathay Pacific or DragonAir, either Class of Service or oneworld Emerald.

Simo,
You don't need The Arrival, assuming transferring on CX you can just go to one of the normal lounges in transit.

Oh, you are quite correct. I'll make an amendment to my post. (I usually fly CX to HKG)
