HKG to Syd Qantas PE or Shenzen to Syd Hainan Business for $1100?

I have the option of traveling either from Hkg (via Qantas premium economy) or Shenzen To Sydney via Hainan airlines for approx $1100 AUD. Which would you choose?

The Hainan option came as a surprise as equal to the cost Of Q PE. FWIW, Hainan return it's $3400, and oneway out of Syd is about $2300. This seems to be their "normal" pricing.

Both are overnight flights.

Anyone experience Hainan business on this route?

I quite like QF Y+ and think it would be acceptable - this option is non-stop, which is a bonus.

BUT

Here you have an opportunity to try a random carrier, take pics, and post them up for us as a trip report... though, consider the layover - could be more of a hassle than it's worth.

So my final conclusion is that you go Y+ QF unless you like the novelty factor of Hainan and you can suck up the layover.
