Overnight (on arrival into T5) stay. £9 on Hoppa but bus only goes every 1/2hr or so, so miss it by 3 mins as I did, and you're in for a decent wait (in the cold, in December!).

Bit of a hike from T5, this is probably a better option from the other terminals (closest to T4 but also pretty close to T3/2/1). I got the hoppa back next morning to Queens terminal (T2) in the end (was catching tube so just got off at first terminal we came to!)

Checkin and checkout efficient and staff friendly. Coffee tasted like mud.

Rooms showing their age, so don't have too high expectations!

Breakfast included in rate for me (£59 all up). Good hot and continental selection.

All in I'd stay there again at that rate, but probably not if arriving into/departing T5 and using hoppa (maybe if departing T5 and if taxi/uber back to T5

View from room overlooking runway (didn't photo well). No noise from airport in room (hotel was really full but very quiet).

I've stayed there a few years ago.

The HI Ariel is within the Heathrow free travel zone (http://www.heathrow.com/file_source/Company/Static/PDF/Heathrowcommuter/travel_around_Heathrow.pdf ) so don't bother with the hoppa if you stay there in the future. Use https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/ to find a suitable bus. I think I used the 423 to/from T5/Harlington Corner for the Ariel. You can also travel free from near the hotel to Hatton Cross tube station rather than going back to a terminal to catch the tube.

That's true - I did discover that after the fact (and is useful
For others reading this!), but given I arrived late at night I just booked the hoppa.

That is spooky SFSC. And also best wishes to you.
I just checked out of here 2 hours ago after a 2 night stay. As usual did not see London or anyone this time, meeting in south of France yesterday. Have had a number of stays here over the last 5 months. Fun fire alarm and evacuation at 01:40 the first night. Your bus tips are excellent. Am currently enjoying the brand new CX First lounge, prior to seat 1A home on QF for a family Christmas. Very best to yourself and plus one. Happy travels. John.
