Hi,

Normally when I return to HK I get free accomodation with family etc, this time round I'll need to find accomodation.

Could anyone suggest any good hotel 4-5* or long stay apartment rentals which are family orienated ?

Need to accomodation 2 Adults and my 6 month old son.

Cheers
ED

If you've got the coin - stay at Four Seasons.....bloody expensive, but IMO worth every cent.

Rooms are big enough to place a cot or if you want to stretch out.....get one of their suites.

How much travelling have you done with the baby? Ours was 9 months when we stayed in a hotel for a week - very hard work as he was just transitioning to solid food (well goo to be honest) and that was hard to heat (to my wife's satisfaction) - an apartment style hotel might be a better option?

My husband and I have just had two stays this month at the Royal Plaza Hotel at Mongkok. This hotel is adjacent to the Grand Century Plaza shopping centre and above the Mongkok East KCR station which we find very convenient for travelling to Shenzhen. In the other direction, it is one stop to Hung Hom and across the platform for one more stop to TST East. From TST East, you can use the underpass to TST station or exit at TST East. We exited at TST East just behind the Sheraton and near Far East Mansions.

The first stay was in room 131x, it was spacious and had a kitchenette. I paid $A120 per night through hoteltravel dot com. This was just before Chinese New Year. Breakfast was extra at about $A16pp.

For the second stay, we arrived about 9pm and were "upgraded" to room 180x, on the executive floor, but with no executive privileges. This was a smaller room with a tiny bathroom and no kitchenette. I paid $A185 per night as it was just after Chinese New Year.

If you can ensure you are allocated a room with the kitchenette, it would be most suitable for travelling with a small child.

First question has to be which area do you want to stay? Kowloon/TST? HK Island? New Territories?

HK is a big place and no point in being a long way from where you want to spend your time.* When I am in HK, I mostly want/need to be around Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and Tai Koo Shing with occasional visits to Kwun Tong, so staying at Kowloon, TST or Monkok would be out of the question for me.* It has to be somewhere on the island and Causeway Bay is pretty central for where I need to be.
