Hong Kong Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees

Booked at the Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees for 5 nights, now iam reading some very negative reports should I be worried has any one stayed there and put my mind at ease?:?:

I spent a week there last year, the hotel itself is fine it is just located in a fairly remote area.

Don't worry too much about it, taxis are cheap and plentiful or you can take the free hotel shuttle.

I actually quite liked exploring the area it has lot's of little shops and roadside stalls and has a more local feel that you don't get in the more touristy areas like Tsim Sha Shui, Mong Kok, Causeway Bay etc.

Thanks yohy, spending 5 days in Causeway Bay, so a slower pace might be just the thing.

Hi, Tripadvisor gives it 3.5 stars and 135/370 HKG hotels, with lots of comments. Perhaps that's where you looked for the neg comments, I guess it depends on which comments are pertinent to you.

Uhmm...Causeway bay is *pretty* hectic. But hey thats Hong Kong and a great place to experience HK too.

So many great hotels in Hong Kong at very good prices and certainly better location wise. I would personally book elsewhere for the location alone and the average reviews
