Planning on staying at Hilton Honolulu 3 - 11 Jan 13, would appreciate any experiences or recommendations to make this stay even more memorable.

hey, traveling to hawaii later this year - where did you end up staying? any recommendations? Will be HH gold during travel - did you get any upgrades?

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Rainbow Tower and when we booked were offered opportunity to get upgrade on check in. You stipulate that you want the option and when you check in, if any upgrades available you get them at the price quoted. In out case we got beautiful corner ocean view right over the beach with the fireworks every friday night. HH always look after you. Hope this helps

No Hilton experience here. We were at The Westin Moana Surfrider over Easter which was nice enough for a mass market upscale chain hotel but housekeeping was a little astray - they missed servicing our room completely 1 night, and on another night they didn't change our linens despite a request to do so (placed the 'please change my linens' card on the bed as per instructions).

Previously stayed at the lovely W in Diamond Head which unfortunately no longer exists (as a W), and The Modern Hotel which is also good fun and has a great proximity to Ala Moana mall. The Modern is a great hangout spot even if you don't stay there - enjoy some fab coughtails by the pool or at The Study before heading to Addiction for a glamtastic night out (http://www.themodernhonolulu.com/play) .
