Morning all,
anyone have any recommendations for a hilton at honolulu, but don't really want to break the bank. we'll be in the area for around 10 nights (nothing firm yet)

also will be hh gold at the time of travelling, I've had a look through the upgrade thread but can't find a recent hawaii post... Are they common? is it usually executive floor upgrade?

I read the best way to book is to find a cheap stay for the hotel on expedia and get them to match it - anything else to it?

Are you travelling with kids? My only suggestion would be don't stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Choose one of the other hiltons if you want to have a nice relaxing holiday. If you have kids you *might* enjoy the village but I think for sanity's sake its probably better to visit the hotel grounds than stay at the hotel.

No definitely not with kids (yet)... ok, I'll check some of the others. I didn't realize that , I guess that's the type of thing forums like this really help with.

At the HHV they will (normally) put you in the Rainbow Tower and there is a designated lounge for breakfast though we found it nearly in edible. ie hard boiled eggs, cake that they called bread, super sugared cereal etc. The coffee was OK:!:
There are a few reasonable restaurants across the street that suitable.
As others have said though, IF you have kids it is a complete experience. iF not then another Hilton may be the go. As serfty says though have a look at FT for more info.
