HOT on SQ bagtag

Hi,

Have just picked up my daughter from an SQ journey MNLxSIN-BNE. On the bagtag is printed HOT between SIN & BNE. It was scheduled as a 55min transfer. Does HOT mean the baggage handlers need to be quick in deaing with these bags?

Yes! it indicates a short transit time in Sin to the baggage handlers. i have done Sq-Sq tranfers of 40 mins (below MCT due to late inbound) in Sin and my lugagge made it easily!

just guessing it might be an extra indicator that the bag is in need of some special attention (maybe it is a HOT bag or else it might have a long connection or something?)
