Hotel Diamant (for those who are coming to AFF Gathering #5 in Oct)

For all those who are planning on coming for AFF Gathering #5 and are planning to stay at Hotel Diamant now might be a good time to start looking for new places to stay...

I see the Diamant Hotel is part of Acton House, which is many buildings... so is it all of them? Hopefully they'll manage to limit the fire to just one and save the others.

Firey say it's under control (but not yet out)... At this stage the damage appears to be in the main building where the reception, the bar and the Flint resturant is (was )...

Prob won't know full extent until tomorrow...

Very early days but things could be okay by October. At least the rooms are safe.

I would be booking elsewhere as a flexible booking, there is quite a demand even this far out!

Just make sure that you are on the side of the hotel away from the construction crews whatever you do!

According to 8Hotels - the hotel is intact it was ancilliary buildings (offices / bar etc) that burnt down.
I am still taking a wait and see approach though have booked a bike elsewhere just in case. Got to love my priorities.

Phew! Shame about whatever heritage listed building did suffer damage though.

It was the building which had the Flint Resturant and Parlour Bar in it...
