Pullman Hyde Park Sydney.

Summer special rate ~$180; Double points + extra for Plat = triple; breakfast included (all included in the summer special so not strictly recognising status); however, as Plat, upgraded room to exec floor with an invite to the exec lounge (currently located in a corner of the restaurant as the real one is being renovated) so free buffet and drinks. All up, not bad. JV

I've also had a good experience here with Platinum status recognized - we were upgrades to the executive floor and had breakfast included (had only booked a standard room). I'd stay there again.

I haven't stayed there...what are the rooms like after the refurb?

I hadn't stayed there before the refurb so not sure what they were like before but I actually thought we were in a room that hasn't been refurbed. It was only on checkout that I was told we were in a refurbed room and I was surprised as they weren't the same style as all the other Pullmans I've stayed in. Having said that, I've only ever stayed in Pullmans in Asia.

It was nice, but not like Thailand or Indinesia.

Wish I had some photos to share.

Novotel Perth Langley

I just had a 3 night stay at the Novotel Perth Langley and received an upgrade from the basic standard room to a King on the Advantages floor, as well as a welcome bottle of Shiraz and Nougart in my room.

was really nice.

i do stay there most times I'm in Perth- not much choice and I normally find the Novotel is cheaper than the Ibis and Mercure (this time the Novotel was about $300 per night and the Ibis was $350 from memory). Such a rip off price wise in Perth. The other rip off was the $7.50 bottle of Fiji Water.

however, great stay, always like being at the Novotel Perth.
