I have four separate bookings for MEL/SYD/vv in a couple of weeks for various members of my family. The plan had been for all of us to go, the wife and I to return leaving the kids with my parents, and then for me to go alone and bring the kids back a week later.

At this stage there seems a significant risk that the trip will need to be cancelled/deferred/rerouted.

The various bookings were paid in various combinations of:

Future Flight Credit
Future Flight Credit plus card
Amex Travel using travel credit plus card

If I were to cancel these, would they all go to Travel Bank? Would some or all of the bookings with Future Flight Credit go back to the separate Travel Bank for that purpose? Is there a way to encourage the Amex Travel bookings to go to Travel Bank rather than lose them in a cancellation?

Future flight credits > funds will be returned back to your future flight travel bank.

Future flight credits + card payment > Future flight credits will be returned to future flight travel bank, card portion can be cash refunded with a fee if flying flexi or elevate. Otherwise card portion will be returned to future flight travel bank if you opt to do so. Getaway fares don't offer the option to refund back to payment instrument so funds will be return to future flight travel bank.

I'm not familiar with the Amex travel credit use case during covid though.

I've had to cancel a booking I made through AmEx travel made using a travel credit and card for Virgin flights.
The money is being held as a credit by AmEx travel that I can use to book another Virgin flight. The limitation is that I have to have booked and travelled within twelve months of the date I initially booked.
There were other options available I think, but I accepted this one because it was the fastest and easiest and seemed workable for my situation.
