Property: Conrad Singapore

Booked: Classic King

Received: Executive King

Checked in early at 8am and was escorted up to the executive lounge. They really like doing that in Asia, guess it makes some guests feel VIP but personally I think it's a waste of time. Hotel was heavily booked and only rooms available so early were Twin or King smoking. +1 can't stand cigarette smell so we took the former until non-smoking King will become available later on the day. Tried to ask for suite but since our stay was more than one night I knew chances would be very low and indeed no suites available, instead got two level upgrade to Executive room.

I like coming back to this hotel, short ride from the airport, good location close to MRT and shopping centre. Rooms are large and fitted with most needed amenities. Diamond amenities were chocolates, fruit, water and couple of bears. Only thing missing was USB connection. I realise the hotel is old (17 years if I'm not mistaken) but they should have at least added an alarm clock with built-in USB as found in other properties.

Service was kind and professional by all staff who are clearly trying their best making guests as comfortable as possible.

Extensive buffet breakfast in the restaurant included Asian, Indian and Western choices. Executive lounge main room is quite small and gets crowded at peak times but they are well prepared and open few extra rooms near by so no issues finding a seat.

Swimming pool area is large with plenty chairs and a bar but feels dated and needs to be refurbished. Was told an extensive renovation of the hotel will start soon. I'm looking forward to see the end result wondering if they'll lift this property to the luxury levels of other Asian Conrads like Tokyo or Seoul.

Taxi to/from airport ~$20, Uber ~$15.
