Some places in Europe differentiate single and double occupancy but I don’t recall seeing that with Hilton (other than maybe B&B rates or other promos specifically including food).
We had an almost Fawlty Towers experience in Spain a few weeks ago. Not a Hilton, just an independent place booked via Expedia and the manager was arguing with us at breakfast why we paid for one person not two. Turns out he had the wrong room. We didn’t see any sign of him as we checked out and they waived the breakfast fee…
