I was take vb from Brisbane to Cairns on Nov. 27, 2010. The flight number is DJ795, Because of I like record my personal flight log(i am a new flight log recorder), so I want to know the aircraft's code of that flight(I remember the code written in a format similar to Vx-xx_).
Can anybody help me for this? Thanks very much!

Hi Newfler, and welcome to AFF.

All Australian registered aircraft are VH-xx_.

I searched ACARS for you: ACARS database search - acarsd ACARS Decoder for Linux and Windows But didn't see anything for DJ.

Also checking the Oz-spotters forum on yahoo showed some DJ aircraft but no flight details. Have you got the time you left and arrived? I might be able to match it from that for you.

I've not had to look up a DJ plane before so it's a bit newer to me!

Nick

thank you for your help.
The detail of that flight is :" DJ 795 18:40 pm Brisbane 21:00 pm Cairns at Nov. 27, 2010".
You can find this flight on vb's website.I have searched on some website.I found the callsign of vb's flight is similar to VOZxx_x.So,I didn't know what is the difference from DJ and VOZ.

thanks

You could try searching the database at this site:
libhomeradar - easy collect aircraft information - Search in our contact database
put a tick in the "search contacts older then 30 days"box then
click on the "Flight search" tab and put in something like VOZ795
in the "Search by flightnumber " box.
This should bring up all the VOZ 795 flights ,then just check the list for the date of the flight, the aircraft registration should be shown.
Cheers

OK I looked through some ACARS Logs and this was the closest match I could find:

27-Nov 21:25 7C6A77 VH-VBD B737

Note that a lot of DJ flights don't seem to have all the ACARS data recorded from all aircraft. Was your flight late?

It's the only one without flight details that fits into your details.

About finding your aircraft.. A couple of ways! Easiest is going to the gate a bit earlier and looking at the rego at the rear of the plane. I do this.

If you are on a 737 the rego is stamped on a plate on the top of the door seal, so look up when boarding (handy at night).

there are a couple of online resources which i have used:

Join Oz-spotters on Yahoo groups. This is where I found your a/c. This works for Australian movements at major airports. You'll see posts for different airports.

ACARS database: ACARS database search - acarsd ACARS Decoder for Linux and Windows

you can download a daily text file and search through it. I find it easier to manually search through the file:

Download WorldWide ACARS reports - acarsd ACARS Decoder for Linux and Windows

For aircraft rego --> names i use these:

QFlyer - Unofficial Qantas Group Fleet Information (all Qantas planes)

and

www.airfleets.net (any other airline including DJ)

Cheers,

Nick

Unfortunately not. As I mentioned earlier it seems not all of the DJ aircraft broadcast all ACARS data, and looks like it is limited to their older planes.

here is an example of how an ACARS transmission looks like:

VH-VXA (B738 QF) 1836 20101114 QF0460 (MEL-SYD)

Decoded is is:

rego / Aircraft type / time stamp / date stamp / flight number / flight details
