Stayed in the Blackman, Pan Pac Melb. Pan Pac Perth and now QT Melb. All booked through the GHA site as a GHA Black member and so far only the Pan Pacifics have offered the upgrades.

Update, after discussions with the very helpful Amy at QT I have now been upgraded :) One interesting thing Amy did say was that I appeared as both GHA and PGR Black on their system but the PGR contact team says I'm only gold level.

Status: GHA plat (PGR black, asked how this works with PP, no idea from staff)

Received:panoramic suite on 11th floor, fruit platter, small desert and bottle of wine all waiting in room with card from GM. lounge access included with suite, drink choices average, food average and cold selection small. worth noting the lounge will be shut down from mid nov onwards for renos. lounge will be moved to gallery space still on 4th floor.

date:30/11/17
Property: Pan Pacific Melbourne
Room booked: deluxe twin
Rate: $234
Received: Panoramic suite on 12th floor, no in room recognition.
Comments: carpet in hallways and room have been updated of late and the room had some new tiling in one of the bathrooms. seems they are trying to change the general feel of the areas to a lighter colour pallet, will be interesting if it works without a proper renovation. exec lounge is currently in the art gallery area still on the 4th floor which has all the required things but due to the hard surfaces in there it will be super load with a decent amount of people in there. had a quick sticky beak at the old lounge and it has been pulled back to a shell so heres hoping they do something special with one of the best views from a lounge in melbourne.

Property: Pan Pacific Melbourne
Room booked: deluxe twin
Received: Panoramic suite on 11th floor
Comments: first trip here with exec lounge back in normal spot. Space doesn't feel much different but most of furniture changed to allow more private areas. most staff from old hilton days seem to be gone with fresh faces everywhere, still a good spot but getting a rate under $300 per night getting less and less easy.
in room recognition was a bottle of red, card and fruit platter.

date:aug 18
Property: Pan Pacific Melbourne
Room booked: deluxe twin x 2 $250
Received: Panoramic and a yarra suite!
Comments: trip away with some friends, sat night rate a had the hotel price-match direct off an online 3rd party rate due to direct price being almost $400. i was hoping for maybe one room upgraded but to have both and to suites exceeded my expectations. all the usual experiences with lounge and breakfast downstairs no problem. hotel was very full, may have something to do with the double upgrade but whos complaining?
in room recognition (both rooms) was a bottle of red, dessert, card and fruit platter.

Dates: Aug 2018
Booked: Premium King City Skyline
Received: Panorama Suite including Lounge access.
Comments: Last stay received bottle red wine, card, fruit platter. To be honest I'm not a fan of the brand of wine they use. It's the same in the lounge. I do like the new lounge and down stairs decor though.
I am constantly surprised at the value for money upgrade this represents despite the program not accruing points for free nights. I've never not had an upgrade at any GHA property (ok maybe apart from some Rydges but even they've been better than Accor).
This hotel is bang on when it comes to beds and room comfort.

Booked Emirates Palace, no room upgrade I think, but top floor.
Early checkin (10:30am) Late checkout (3pm)
Ambassador assigned for the stay, with personal greeting, tour and option given for local experience of a full tour of the hotel.
Fantastic stay, expensive, but wow!
If you have an experience to spend, do the tour... private golf cart and access to normally off limits places and to end the tour, a gold flaked coffee and cake experience.
Booked Avani Deira Dubai, upgrade to mini suite, access to club, late checkout, great hotel and staff.
Booked Omni Royale New Orleans, room upgrade, early checkin 11:00am once the front office manager looked at my booking and saw black status. Fantastic hotel and everyone looked after us.
One thing to be aware of is if you are PGR as well as GHA, Rydges Hotels treat you as a PGR member and not as elite GHA member. I have taken this up with GHA and they agree, Rydges should be treating you as GHA member if you book through the GHA website, rather than the less desirable PGR status.
I am currently seeing if I can be only GHA member and get rid of PGR membership altogether..
In saying that , Rydges Melbourne Airport had no issues.. top floor and nice red wine comped..

Quick question for those who are members of both PGR & GHA with the accounts linked.

When you log into your GHA account do you get a pop-up saying there are multiple accounts detected for these credentials & asking you to select either your GHA (starts with an 8) or PGR (starts with an R) account details?

Apparently this is supposed to be the case & depending on which account you select that determines what program benefits you receive. Mine defaults to the PGR number even though I can log into the same account with either my email or GHA account number details..

Interesting, I cannot log into the GHA website with my PGR number, though I will see stays booked via the GHA website for PGR Hotels on the PGR site as well.

Just to clarify my initial post was about logging into the GHA website only.

Anyone with GHA platinum/black stayed at Anantara Al Jabal in Oman? Just wondering if you received an upgrade due to status? They should but, it is one of those opulent places.
