I have had some really indifferent crew who seem to go through their paces but do nothing more, to crew that really cared and went the extra mile. As I have said in other posts, whether its QF or DJ, an indifferent crew I give the benefit of the doubt to, we all have a bad day, a good crew, well I always take the time to provide feedback.
I have to say generally I find the QF crew to be more professional but also more rigid, while the QF link and DJ crews seem to go the extra mile and seem a bit more fresh in their approach, maybe thats a sign of their ambition?
Is that the lounge staff (as in airline staff) or the catering staff? In most States the QF lounge staff are much more professional than their counterparts at Virgin. At least, that's my experience.

Careful with the generalizations! Some DJ catering staff may be average but others, such as the Adelaide catering staff, are absolutely fantastic - table service etc. The same goes for crew, I think there are many older crew on both qantas and virgin that are more bubbly and friendly than any of the younger crew. I had a flight last month on DJ and I would estimate the CSM was 60+ and one of the other male cabin crew were 70ish - it was one of my best flights. Both of them were ex-ansett I latter found out after talking to them.
DJ lounge staff (at desk) , big thumbs up, DJ contractors - average to below average and even downright rude.
Maybe I have been lucky, but my dealings with VA/DJ staff have been very good. The staff in the lounges have been excellent.
