How long for AA flights to post on QFF?

I took some AA flights on 11 and 12 Sep, and they haven't yet appeared on my QFF activity statement. How long does it usually take?

These flights will take me to SG, so I'm a bit anxious about them.

I have all my boarding passes (from checking in online), so I can send those in if necessary. Does anyone know why QFF won't let you claim AA flights online, like you can with BA, CX, etc.? It seems a major omission.

Thanks.

Usually only 3-5 working days. I'd suggest contacting QFF.

I would send an email detailing your request along with attached .jpg scans of your BP's to frequent_flyer(at)qantas.com.au.

It's not published on the web site but that email should do the trick.

I've had about 8 AA flights this month, about half of them credited within a few days. For the others I emailed Qantas and they actually got back to me today asking for scans of the boarding passes.

Seemed a bit weird when some of them were on the same booking code and 1 segment would credit and the next didn't..

I'm still waiting for AA flights to credit from the 9th of September. Qantas asked for evidentiary support... which would be fine if I hadn't misplaced one of the boarding passes (most likely left on board).

Hoping that the e-ticket receipt will do the trick...

Can anyone explain why AA is not an option when selecting the airline partner when claiming for missing points?

It took about 5 days for my flights in July to get credited to the QF account.

Did you check if you had eligible booking class(es)? I had a Q booking from JFK to LAX last year, and the flight didn't get posted.

My guess is because they us Sabre and not Amadeus for the GDS. They are not all that compatible.

Plenty of crossover between the GDS's though.

I took a heap of AA flights earlier in the year. Apart from the 2 which were non-QF earning (which were credited to AA and successfully posted there), all my other AA flights did credit within 3 days. Most were P class but even the Y fares credited within 72 hours. Seems to be done in batches. My P class fares were booked on separate PNR's via aa.com, and the Y fares via my Travel Agent as part of a QF/AA ticket (MEL-SYD-SFO-LAX-SFO-SYD-MEL) and were AA codes and a QF code share on AA metal. No problems to date (And hopefully none coming up as my next run will make me WP which i'd like to use for the F lounge before coming home).

Thanks for the advice again, serfty. That's what I did, sending the email on 29 Sep.

I received an automatic response the next day, followed by another acknowledgement email on 2 Oct, which also contained a reference number.

However, since then I haven't heard anything, and the flights haven't credited. I seem to recall seeing something about claims taking 6-8 weeks to process (although I've just looked again and can't find it now). It's been over 6 weeks now -- should I start to worry? I saw someone else reported that they'd received their missing points only a week after sending in their AA boarding passes!

My year ends this month, and these SCs are going to take me to SG for the first time, so I'm a bit anxious. Is it worth following up with QFF, or should I wait until the 8 weeks are up?

Thanks.

I would wait the 8 weeks then resend your email along with further notes regarding your original email and the reference number they provided (and you have waited the 8 weeks).

When the SC's post Qantas will backdate them and if you had attained SG then they generally are right on to this and you will be send a nice shiny new card.

14 hours :)

Also I guess I helped it a long a little when the SYD T3 QP desk lady saw the used AA boarding pass in my top pocked and she credited me with points and status credits (which I don't think I was fully entitled too as I'm sure I flew at least one flight in a non-earning class)

Thanks for the advice serfty; I did this two days ago, 8 weeks after submitting my claim.

Someone from customer service just called me, and explained that AA has denied my claim. She asked me to send a copy of the ticket as well, which I've now done. She also asked me to confirm that the flights were in 2009 not 2008 (which they were, 2009, that is), and that I had my name correct on the ticket (which it was). I asked her whether she thought the claim might have been denied because I'd printed the boarding passes myself at hotels; she didn't know.

Does anyone have an idea how long it might take from this point? I'll be more than a little annoyed if it takes longer than a month, because I'm flying to NZ over Christmas, and had expected that I'd be SG by then and hence able to use lounges. (I've let Qantas know that that's my expectation as well.)

Crossing my fingers that QF can get AA to come to the party...

Tim.

Good luck.

One good thing about the (original) AA e-ticket emails is that they show the booking class for each segment.
