I'm currently sitting on 440 SCs with an upcoming review date of 12 November, so did a status run on 21 October with Skywest PER-BQB-PER to get me over the line to Gold. Booked Skyflex fares directly with Skywest, as these earn at the First/Business rate, so should get a total of 80 SCs for the flights. Nothing posted yet, and I know the Velocity website says to wait 14 days for Skywest points to credit - just wondering whether anyone has seen their Skywest SCs/points actually come through in that 14-day period? Judging by other threads I've seen, it's often a case of having to put in a retro claim and wait anything up to several months for Skywest flights to credit - my concern is that a good whack of my SCs will expire on 12 November and shortly afterwards, and I've seen the hassles others have described on this forum about trying to get the status upgrade they're entitled to when SCs don't post in time before other SCs expire.
So is it worth giving Velocity a call this week and putting in a retro claim, or will they tell me that I just have to wait until the 14 days is up before doing so? Waiting until the 14 days has passed will leave me with just over a week before my review date, which really concerns me. Only being Silver, my call would go through to the main Velocity call centre and although the staff are usually quite helpful, anything out of the ordinary seems to throw them judging by my own experience and other threads on similar subjects. Hubby was on the same flight with me, nothing credited for him yet either - he's recently ticked over to Gold and was racking up some more SCs for requalifying for next year, so no rush for his points etc to credit - would it maybe be better for him to call as he will go through to the Gold Priority Call Centre? Would he be able to chase up the SCs for both of us?
Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.
ETA: Our Velocity numbers were entered on the Skywest site at the time of booking and appeared on the boarding passes
