Hi, although being registered for quite a few years I have never written or commented on anything. My Qantas FF is in the low 80000 and although I have asked Qantas for advice on when I joined they are unable to assist. Would any of the long term Qantas travellers have an approximate to when I commenced?

Press on the blue square above your name and it shows your joining date.

Here's hoping you are now an active member.

And I just realised I misread the question. To find your QFF joining date it shows on your membership card: Member since:

This is interesting, as I've been a member of AFF since 2005, have posted I believe intelligently - i.e. when I had something useful to say - but not profusely, and I see that Hyr, a Senior Member, has been a member for two years fewer than I have but has made over seven thousand more posts than I, suggesting that the idea of Seniority is related to the number of posts one has made, rather than one's actual seniority.

Seniority is seniority, AFF, not profusion.

Should I look forward to your correcting the parameters?

Ekka, whilst I believe that your post is OT to the thread, I don’t see the parameters being changed as per your suggestion. To base it solely on length of membership would place those who lurk but perhaps take many years to post above those who contribute regularly. Whilst it is only a title as such, I don’t believe that to be a positive changed compared to the status quo.

And lurkers dont contribute anything to the knowledge bank but simply extract from it.

Hvr has made excellent contributions to AFF and attends many social events. I don’t always agree with him and that too is a learning process.

Belated welcome to AFF.

Seniority is connected to the number of posts made not length of membership. Length of membership is immaterial.

Yes. It’s shown on your QFF card. Well, mine is, anyway.

This post and a few others yesterday might suggest otherwise.

Then what next I wonder? .... someone will want to be a Senior (Member) based on their age alone. :)

AFF and its equivalents are about give and take. The more a person gives the more they add to the richness of knowledge here. The more a person takes without contribution may be good for them but that adds nothing here even though they may experience both the good and bad during their travel that sharing here would aid others.

@Sinking Seabourn and congratulations on your first AFF post :)[/QUOTE]

And a welcome from me, also.

There’s an unofficial welcoming party that will individually post, shortly, although you are probably already aware of this.
