Hi guys,

Just wanted to check in here - I hit Platinum with AAdvantage a couple of months ago but haven't yet received my new membership card. Can anyone give an indication of how long this typically takes? Wondering if it is time to phone them and see if it has got lost in the post!

Cheers

I received my renewal card about 3 weeks after reaching the 50K EQP. If ots been a couplf of months, then give them a call or an email to check they have the correct postal address.

I think in the last few years I have had to call and get a "re-issue" twice.

And one did come boat mail.

I've asked two years in a row (2008 & 2009) for a reissue after about two months waiting and in both cases two cards arrived within a week of each other!

Hmm, well I emailed a week ago and as yet haven't even had an acknowledgement that my email arrived. Not really feeling the love... On the other hand, I've just been specifying my account number by hand when doing self-service checkin on Qantas and the OneWorld Sapphire status prints at the bottom of the boarding pass, so I have at least been able to leverage the lounge access in lieu of the card.

I'll have to phone them some time this week I guess.

Howdy,

AA emailed back this morning, stating that the card was shipped out on 29th of August (I hit Platinum back on July 31st so about a four week lag) and that delivery takes "a minimum of five weeks". Sounds like a long time... but I will let you know once it finally arrives. :)

I'm new to AA and will qualify for Platinum in the next fortnight or so. What is your expiry (ie. how long do you have Platinum for)?

Qualifying in 2011 will get you a card that will expire at the end of Feb 2013.

Happy wandering
