They were bought for international service.

So the first (for-the-purpose-purchased :) ) flight of a JQ 787 seems to be December 18th, MEL-DPS.

At an interesting departure time for JQ35: A 10:00 departure!

And an interesting departure time for the return DPS-MEL as well: A 14:30 departure. Not overnight!

For one day only!

And JQ Business Class JQ35 MEL-DPS December 18th is sold out. (or not for sale)

Suspect the timings for the first day have been done for media/publicity purposes.

I hope the 787 operates on the 18th December DPS-MEL as JQ36 because I'm booked on it!

Great to have a Qantas Group daytime/evening flight from SE Asia to MEL! Departing 14:30, arriving 23:05.

Too bad it's only for one day. :( Then it's back to 23:00 departures.

Don't let me down JQ!! :).

I'm a bit late to the party, but mr k_sheep and I will be there, 1A/C :D

Though I have to say if we get bumped from our seats by a media weenie I will be decidedly unimpressed. Just concerned about that since the seat map is no longer available.

Are you doing the turnaround Austman or just the DPS-MEL?

Already in DPS. So just doing DPS-MEL. Taking advantage of the 14:30 departure time. Unfortunately in the back. :(

Oh dear! Just received an email. It's now a 17:50 departure from DPS... Hope it doesn't get later. Just 2 days to go.

That's an 0230 arrival.

Maybe a later departure would actually be better??

I was trying to avoid the horrible over night flight. 02:30 is 23:30 DPS time, so it might not be too bad. If it's not further delayed!

True - I guess 0230 is ok if you've got nothing on the "next" day!

Annoyed; my flight MEL-DPS got bumped from 1000 to 1320. I'd already booked a flight tomorrow night and hotel because I didn't want to chance doing the 0500 shuttle down in the morning. Turns out I'd have had plenty of time and could've saved the hotel $$$ (not to mention been available for the work xmas party tomorrow night!).

Still showing MEL-DPS as a 13:20 delayed departure. So airport check-in should now be open? :)

Yep in fact we were allowed early checkin - turned up at 9:45 odd. Saw a man go by with 787 models and a big orange carpet :):)

Told we should get to boarding a bit early as there may be "shenanigans" :D

It seems MEL-DPS, originally scheduled for 10:00, eventually departed at 14:11 and was in the air at 14:24. It's now scheduled to land at 16:55.

The return, DPS-MEL, that I'm booked on, originally scheduled for 14:30, then delayed to 17:50, is now showing an 18:15 departure...

(there seems to be a few usual thunderstorms around DPS ...)

Mmmmm no air bridge yet? 18:15 take off is 20mins away !ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1387360658.335568.jpg
