Is there a summary page of how Hertz pays miles and points to the various FF schemes? I just joined their program and want to decide the best way to credit the miles.

For instance, last time I checked with Avis they paid QFF in proportion to the rental dollars while via SQ it was a fixed number of miles per rental.

My choices are:

Qantas FF
Velocity
Krisflyer

For Velocity, Hertz rentals earn 3 points per $ on base rental only excluding taxes and charges, plus status bonus of 50% for silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for platinum. Hertz no longer offers QFF points. I have no idea about Kris Flyer.

Thanks AdMel & oz_mark. For this short rental it will be better to take the guaranteed amount of 500 miles with KF.

Happy days.

Depends on how you see the value of miles, VS is 1100 as a Gold Member with Hertz.

Yes, of course. I was being self-centred in my calcs. My VS status is Red. The only thing I have crediting to Velocity is a my business virgin mobile bill.

VA or vs? Virgin Australia vs Virgin Atlantic.

oops, me bad VA - Velocity. Just goes to show how little I have to do with them, except for this weekend's redemption to Melbourne of course.

Let me put it another way, crediting to VS can give you a return J trip to HKG for very few rentals from either Hertz or Avis, I once had the Avis manager in DRW asking why I kept swapping cars each day @ $18 a day rental, believe he is off to HKG shortly as a result of our discussion ;).

I credit car rentals and Hilton stays to Virgin Atlantic and getting closer that next SYD-HKG return in business class.

Personally I value 1,000 VS points at ~$15-20 so those ~$45/day rentals look really cheap. Even better if you can get a cheaper corporate on the rentals.
