how many Qantas FF status points will i get when i fly with LAN?
Do i get 100%
secondly how many points WILL get with LAN going from LAX to Lima return regular economy.

in case this helps the distance is

Miles:
4175.40

Kilometers:
6719.47

BNE to LAX is 11,500 kms in economy is 90 SC each way
so i should be getting around 100 SC points, now do i get a percentage of those points when it converts from LAN to Qantas, or do i get the lot?

When you need to calculate how many miles you will get, you will need to refer to the Airline Earning Table (click here), which is part of the QFF Terms and Conditions.

According to the table, the base earning rate for Economy is 1, so you will get at least 4,175 points for a one-way trip from Los Angeles to Lima in Economy (assuming it is a direct flight). Double that for a return flight.

Note that QFF Status Bonus does not apply here because your flights are not ticketed with a QF/BA/JQ/AA flight number (I assume this is the case anyway, i.e. your e-ticket has you ticketed on a flight operated by LA or LP).

Note also that you will need to check the booking code for your flight, as it must be one of the eligible codes listed in the Airline Earning Table (under the section for LAN) in order to be credited. Usually this will appear on your itinerary as "Economy-N" or something to that effect (in this example, "N" is the booking code).

Now status credits are based on distance-classed zones. For your flight of distance 4,175 miles and assumed in non-flexible Economy (i.e. not "Economy-Y"), this falls under zone 5 in the Status Earn Table (click here) and you will get 30 SCs for a one-way trip, or 60 SCs for a return trip.

Note that your example of BNE-LAX being 90 SC each way (or 180 SC for a return flight) is only correct if you are flying fully flexible Economy (i.e. booking code Y) or Premium Economy.

It's a good idea to keep your boarding cards as well. LAN are having a computer upgrade (or so I was told) and partner credits are not being sent through.

I recently had 4 flights with LAN and it took a lot of chasing before the miles were credited.

AA code share with LAN to LIM. If your flight is AA you will get the status bonus on miles but not with LAN, well worth the difference if you have QF status.

On your return the LAN flight does not connect well in LAX with the QF flights, you will probably have most of a day in LAX which can be nice. Another option is to go LIM to LAX via NYC, this will allow you to connect with QF108 and back to BNE. Or even Miami and via DFW as a direct flight back to BNE. I worked these options out in J and the airfare difference was small or cheaper… and you get a day in NYC or Dallas and lots of extra points and SC’s, but LAX is cool too

The final thing is to make sure your booking class actually earns with LAN.

It probably will; but in the event it's not listed under LA on the QFF airline earning table for then you are SOL.
