How much transfer time do you think we need in Sydney from BA to Jetstar?

Hi,

We are coming back from London Heathrow via Singapore with BA on June 28 arriving June 30 (Sunday) at around 5.30am scheduled.

We are then flying with Jetstar from Sydney to Hobart and the flight is scheduled at 7.25am which means you have to have checked in around 6.45am

Do you think thats enough time to get through customs, immigration and change terminals or best to go for a later flight?

Thanks,
Dale.

Are these separate independent tickets ?
As you are not arriving or departing on QF not sure you will be able to use the QF terminal bus.
If not you need to transfer by the land side train or bus: takes time.

Take a later flight is my view

If you were transiting MEL no such issues There are good reasons to avoid Sydney

Thanks for comments. We will get a later flight.

At least you will be able to use the Qantas Club in T2 to catch up on some sleep. If I see two very jet-lagged looking people in the Qantas Club that morning I promise I will be quiet! Boy what a brutal itinerary..... don't overdo/underdo it on the drinks and sleeping pills (depending on which class you are flying in on BA)

Flying premium economy with BA so better than economy but still not good. And our trip home starts in Venice and then 6 hours at Heathrow T5 where we may lose our lounge access due to end of BA deal with Qantas. I had counted on the BA lounge when booking flight so not impressed.

OK - so I saw you were posting in this thread a while ago about the whole Qantas Club access to BA Galleries/Terraces Lounge.

Fortunately markis10 provided a link of the Qantas Club terms and conditions that were in operation when you made your booking back in mid 2012.

Here it is:
http://web.archive.org/web/20091126030624/http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/qantas-club-lounge-access/global/en

If you really wanted to argue the point - you could print out hard copies of these particular Qantas Club Terms and Conditions and try to firmly but politely argue that they are the reason why you chose to fly BA and that those were the T&Cs in operation when you made the booking. You can truthfully say that Qantas have not notified you of the change in your T&Cs and try to argue your way in there.

If not admitted - take all this back to Australia and if you feel like a real p*&^k, and if you paid for QC before the end of the JSA between QF and BA, and really want to argue the point then ring your bank and organize a chargeback for your QC membership as "services not provided" - then that will get Qantas's attention and they may care to provide you with an explanation or maybe just an apology if thats all you want.

Anyway - let us know what BA PE is like when you have time! Cheers :D

Yes I have printed out the terms and will wait and see what happens with any changes at the end of the JSA. Wish I could get to Gold in time but won't happen till later. Flight isn't until 12 May and returning at end of June so will report on PE after that. I have written to Qantas about the BA situation and they have just said they are still negotiating and don't know what is happening yet.

You are a very patient guy dalereardon , more so than I!

I am a fan of long transfer times (and the use of a Hotel) when flying long haul. 24 hours is good
