I would like to redeem seats on CX, BA, etc using my QFF points. I was unable to check availability through the QF website.

Does anyone know how to check availability on the web?

You cannot check CX availability through the Qantas web site.

I believe if you have a BAEC club account you can check through there.

I check for CX awards using my Asia Miles account (no joining fee, all done on-line and account can check award availability within minutes of creating the account). I do the same with a JAL mileage Bank account for checking JL award seat availability. Then call QF or AA to book the award flights.

Sadly I joined Asia Miles ages ago and have forgotten both the email and password that I used to register and it wont let me re-register...

Why won't they let you re-register? Is it because you are using the original email address? Give CX a call and they may be able to fix it for you. Otherwise, maybe sinongr junior or Mrs simongr may need an account ;)

I have tried that - I think I registered mrssimongr before. I think they actually match name, DOB, sex etc - not just the email when re-registering...

Are the same award seats seen through Asia Miles always made available to QF/AA FF members?

I have found it to be reliable for finding CX awards for use with my AA membership. I believe the availability is the same for all OneWorld alliance members when using a non-status Asia Miles account.

Earlier this year hubby (qantas plat) redeemed his qff points for me to fly from London to New York with BA - and he just did this via Qantas website. He just put in London to New York. It showed available seats (not actual number of seats, but if they were available for booking or not) in y, y+, j and f for a number of flights between LHR and JFK. He had to pay taxes and charges (BA really hit pax with the fuel surcharges) in pounds.
