Definitely my favourite "lounge" by far, despite that all drinks need to be paid for.

For an even more local experience, look for the staff canteen in T1 and T2. These are low-end, simple food courts designed for staff, with absolutely zero glamour. It's very interesting to see a workers class area hidden from the glamour and bling of the terminals. The food court in T3 is not too bad, costs slightly more, but obviously looks a lot nicer.

Hi Awesom Andy

I am keen to find out how to locate these staff canteens in T1 and T2. I hear that they can be quite difficult to locate. Can you provide some instructions to make it more accessible? Also is either one better / have more variety than the other? Many thanks in advance.

Think T2 is bigger than T1. They are hidden but not that hard to find.

T2.
Walk towards the left side of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at the Departure Hall [left side i.e. when you're standing at the check in counters, look at coffee bean]
There's an escalator somewhere there, move UP the escalator and you'll come to a door which leads to a car park. Get through the door, turn left and you'll see another door which leads to some stairs. Move up those stairs and you'll find the staff canteen.

T1
go to the rear side of Burger King..there’s an exit..u go out, down the stairway to the left..and u’ll see the signboard of canteen..
OR via lifts 8, 9, 13.

That's pretty much it.

And basically, if you head towards the eastern end of T1, and the southern end of T2, there will be some "staff canteen" signs. The signs aren't the best, but following them and exploring a little will definitely get you there.

T2: I think its at level 3M - accessed from the lifts IN the carpark area (so follow the signs into the carpark and look for some lifts)
T1: yes burger king is the general landmark on the arrivals level. Im actually going to be at t1 tomorrow so if i have some time i will take some photos to serve as a general guide.

Backup option - just ask the staff - they should be happy to oblige

Step 5: So under the "Staff Canteen" sign is a small flight of stairs (not sure where the lifts are - never really had to find them!)
