Hello,
Now hoping to try F via an upgrade to LA on the A380.
My young child has about 18,000 points which will come in handy...how do I get them back if they are under 20k? Would you transfer 20000 to him and then transfer 38,000 back to me??
It gets more complicated, my wife used her annual family transfer to me, she has 18,000 too. She has transferred to me once this year. So I give her 20,000, she gives the child 38,000 and the child gives me 56,000??

I thought it was a minimum of 5,000 points for transfer that could be done once a year. I transferred 10,000 a few months back to my sister to help with her J upgrade on a trip to the US recently.

There is a minimum of 5k to transfer: Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Family Transfers

so you could transfer from your one to you without a problem.

in regards to your wife idea - each FF can only do 1 transfer per year. so she is done until 12 months after the last one.
