As we all know, from 1 July 2017 bank-issued American Express cards will be subject to a maximum cap of 0.8% for interchange fees, which "should" see a big drop in points earn rates for premium cards.

Have any banks actually announced changes to their premium AMEX cards?? My NAB card is still earning 1.5 ppd.

I'm curious to know what to expect and to help plan with my next few cc applications.

Any thoughts from people in the know would be appreciated.

No changes announced.

As to what *might* happen - that's crystal ball stuff .......

CBA dropped the earn rate on their diamond Amex earlier this year (in anticipation I presume) from 1.5 to 1.2 QF FF per dollar.

This will probably be cut a lot more for the card to be profitable. If the interchange fee will be 0.8% max (same as Visas and MCs) then at most we might expect 0.66 ppd for bank issued Amex cards I would've thought.
