I have been offered a chance to upgrade current low rate credit card to this one and waving the annual fee of $129 for life. I haven't looked at the details regarding the Platinum Credit card.

The main reason for the low rate card is the ease of the ongoing balance transfers. Assuming that is still the case with the Platinum credit the sign on bonus for nothing is very tempting. Is Qantas the only option for points transfers?

Any catches I need to know before applying?

There is a QF version which I used to own but had a downgrade in benefits earlier this year (no free QC passes, previous unlimited 1QF/$ capped to 12.5K per month then 0.5, no double points on QF spend)
The non-QF version has recently announced VFF as a redemption partner. From what I can work out its only 0.5VFF/$. The other redemption options seemed uninspiring when I owned it 5 years ago
A balance transfer on a free card is nice though

Thanks andye. Looks like 10,000 Velocity points sign up bonus.

The email does not make mention of the 0% balance transfer for 8 months that is mentioned on website. Current card offers 2.99% balance transfers for 6 months.
