HSBC increasing credit card annual fees on 11/3/25

I ditched them last year (QF platinum) when they hiked it from $99 to $299, glad I wasn’t here for $399.

Quite ridiculous, my QF Amex has been $450 since I got it 8 years ago and I get all of that back as a travel credit.

HSBC used to be very competitive, now it’s once of the worst.

Interesting that they've chosen not to grandfather old users... :(

They didn’t last time either.

Do you know of any other card which earns same or more SQ mile?
No - mine has been a back up for QFF points to the QF Money Premier Ti MC, which I’m canceling soon, and I was looking to lean on the HSBC one for a while

Maybe they have grandfathered?......
This notification has not been sent to card holders and is only on their card application page......
Their important notices page (accessible from the bottom of their home page), does not say anything anout changes:
Important Notices | Latest Information - HSBC AU

Not likely though :)

.....also when does the 1st year free start..... I will be assuming it starts on Mar 25, so they won't charge me until Mar 26 :)

Has anyone confirmed with HSBC that the new credit card fees applies to everyone or is it for just new applications from 11 March 2025. I haven’t receive any communication from HSBC, and to me it may just be for new applicants from 11 March 2025.

Welcome to AFF - hopefully someone will answer your question

If it does, it will usually start being printed on statements upcoming. I don’t understand why everyone is hand wringing over “not being informed” as if this isn’t how pretty much every card operates.

Once the first few statements this year come out I’m sure we’ll know if there’s something in them.

We'd expect emails/mail notifying the changes.

I received a monthly statement over the weekend.

After a really close look I can see no such notification (as yet).

I replied to an email from an RM and they confirmed it will be from card anniversary for existing customers.
Thanks; looks like I’m good until December with no fee, if that’s the case. I’ll cancel prior. Best case cardholders will be those with a February anniversary
