Sitting at work on endless hold for work reasons.

Lets me catchup with more important things...... AFF!!!!!!!

My personal favourite is Australia Post. After being diverted through several operators and waiting on hold:

"Yes sir we do have a record of that Express Post envelope being sent but it seems to have gone missing at some point and hadn't been delivered. Would you like a complimentary envelope in return"

I was on the phone with Qantas last week for 45 minutes. Thought the problem was resolved, but appears not. Just need to ready myself for another marathon call (which I spend 99% of the time on hold)

Ever dealt with Floptus....:shock::evil:
Not so much a problem with being on hold... but I can't remember the number of times they've "lost" my details when I tried to set up broadband with them when I moved into my current place. Wouldn't be so much of a problem except it includes personal details, being the nature of the application - and I'm even a current subscriber to their mobile phone service so I don't see how they cant simply "transfer" my details over. In the end after almost a month I gave up and went with TPG per Dave Noble's recommendation. Don't get me started on other issues, but anyway.... *deep breaths*

I love Austpost.

Yes I can see it got to ........... warehouse but from there it disappears, only to show up a week later with multiple markings on it after travelling around the country looking for its home.

I have found Express Post to be a waste of time.

My favourite AusPost story occurred about 10 years ago.

A letter sent from a few suburbs away somehow found it's way into an International Airmail bag bound for the UK. It arrived there, and the posties marked the envelope with a comment something like "Not England -- suggest Australia!!!!".

It turned up a few weeks late!

Only recently a server sent from one of our interstate sites to our Edinburgh South Australia site had been via Edinburgh Scotland. It was not all that late arriving having been sent by air. Was not Australia Post in this instance though.

Best of all, after 90mins I completed the full circle of "Let me put you through to the right department" and I got nowhere:rolleyes:

I despise any company that uses that silly voice recognition software.

"In order to serve you better can you tell us a little bit about your call today?" Well after 5 minutes and hearing the same "Was that a Yes" over and over finally you get put through to the wrong department and then starts the "department transfer wars". Surely a real live operator would not have been that expensive?

When I got thgought to someone the next day. The told me they didn't sell the product I as using:shock:. They could not explain how I had an account for it, delivery details, Access to the telstra network. But inisted they didn;t supply it.

That's Telstra for you :!:

Recently when my home phone was not working I had lengthy discussions (on my mobile) with them about getting some priority in having the fault fixed. (I was on medicac call and the mobile service at home is dodgy at best)

Rather than actually address the problem they suggested that if having a phone was so critical then my employer should get me a 'Satellite Phone.' I'd probably go elsewhere (where) but Telstra are the only one that has mobile service where I work :!:

Heck they once told me my phone number didn't exist. Told them to hang up and call me on it, which they did!

Phone number on Optus Cable?

No, a genuine telstra number that they did actually manage to send a bill to. They claimed that on that exchange the numbers only went up to 1999

e.g. 9123 1999

but my number was

e.g. 9123 2005

which they claimed was not yet in use!

Just like here, you cant run a business without them, and they know it!

And this is what frustrates me more than the "For billing press 1" because it isnt accurate, no matter how hard you try to speak clearly it always gets it wrong. I am born in australia so there isnt some twang of an accent hiding in the background. I last rung up Telstra on Monday (which took so long i couldnt do any of the jobs that i should of around home to the happiness of MrsGurio!) and in the end i started swearing at it because at least then it couldnt have gotten it right if it tried. Needless to say that i soon got through to someone to speak to and then got handed round New Delhi before finally getting someone in Australia who sorted out my issue in less than 5 minutes - or 10% of the time of the call:rolleyes:
