Hi everyone, Ineed some help organizing a JASA, we are not to savey with computers etc ( retired ) so here goes, I have aprox 90000pts and my better half aprox 55000, we have to travel on AUG 8 PER- SING return SEPT 20th SING- PERTH, can anyone help me with my best options? and how to go about the option? Thanks

Need to go on the QF website for cheapest way to get it done. Under the "awards booking" section, you can choose the cities, dates and "Qantas & Jetstar Anyseat Award"

I see reasonable J availability on these flights:

AUG 8: QF77
SEPT 20th: QF72 (ouch)

If you are not comfortable with using the website, you can call in to book a "Anyseat award" but will be charged an extra assistance fee of 5000 points I think.

Edit: Not sure if you have enough points? It is 50K points per person per sector PER - SIN -> so 200K points needed in total

Thanks for he quick reply, is that the min befor putting $ to it

Correct min is 50k points + cash for one way.

You see awards ranging in price so select an award ~80k then when you are paying just use the slider.

Sister going on her first JASA tomorrow Per-Sin :)

I'm afraid even in Y your points cost would be 50,000 each (and $467 in fees) compared to paying for flights on QF which is $1095. I don't think you'll find particularly good value looking for 2 J fares with your points total.

If you think you might go back to Singapore at some stage another option could be to get a one way award in business to sin. This would require the purchase of top up points, of which you can purchase a maximum of 15000, and you would need to avoid the phone assistance fee. I've never purchased top up points so im not sure how that all works, but the terms do say they must be purchased towards a specific award flight. You would then buy a separate ticket sin-per-sin later next year. The idea being to push the per-sin leg out as far as possible for your next journey.

Is getting a credit card, with a sign on bonus an option? Again that'll get you to Singapore in business but still not the return. Otherwise, donations from family?

Of course the value comes out differently for a business fare as the OP requested.

BTW I'm getting 76000 points + $1316 for 2 passengers return, so 38000 minimum each in Y.

Top up points aren't particularly cheap so i would suggest a credit card deal if possible....

Could you use as many QF points as required to get one J flight return and buy some miles in the current AA offer (i think its 35k miles for J one way South Pacific to Asia zone 2 or whatever so buying enough for 70k miles) for about $1500 plus whatever taxes are required and then get it on the same QF flight if J award seats are available??

ok so havent enough points for J , so I have done a dummy run for economy and come up with 54200 points + $ 514 have i done this right?? leaving Per aug 8 returning from Singapore Sep 20, hope i have donr this right my friends , so will i get points an SCs for these flights

If it says

[h=1]Step 4 - Qantas and Jetstar Any Seat Awards - Review your flights[/h]
Then yes

Yes that looks about right. Depending on booking class you could earn 4858 points each so your net points spend is the same as a classic award. Are the SC's (50) (which will only cost you $47 each) really that useful to you?

I would be looking at doing a JASA one way,
then maybe looking at a paid fare to KUL (cheap) then an Air Asia/Malaysian (who will be in oneworld by Aug/Sep) KUL-PER home or Scoot SIN-OOL/SYD, then across to PER,

That way you earn more SCs (J being 4x discount Y) and probably don't burn as much cash.
