IC Ambassador Upgrades

Its a good place to use points if you have any, especially if it's in conjunction with a paid stay .

But what about Friends & Family rates at ICs in general? I can't see anything in the IHG T&Cs that excludes the rate from Ambassador upgrades

No one can add anything?

Well with 2 IC bookings at the same hotel starting today, one (not at F&F rate) was upgraded days ago but the other (at the F&F rate) stays un-upgraded.

The chat result: It seems an upgrade would have happened but not automatically. I'd have to ask for it.

I asked if I could adjust the F&F rate to the regular advanced purchase rate which included breakfast. Also it would then be a qualifying rate. Management said OK. I should have booked it instead of the F&F rate in the beginning. Sometimes the AP rate is nearly as good - but not always.
