Hi guys,

Anyone know of a simple way to get VA flights/itineraries output to an iCalendar format file (for input into a wide variety of calendar systems - I'm a mac/linux person, so don't generally use Outlook)?

I realise it's not all that difficult to do manually, but that will inevitably lead to a typo eventually, and it seems like something that would be ridiculously easy to provide...

Cheers,

Danny

Don't think they can. It you might be able to via TripIt?

What nlagalle said - redirect the flight confirmation e-mails to TripIt and then use their ICS feed. That's what I do and it works brilliantly!

I've just tried this with Tripit. However my calendar just says "Comoman is in Sydney". Doesn't import actual flight details etc. Have to click the link on the calendar entry.

Am I doing something wrong?

It worked just fine for me without doing anything fancy - did you forward the whole confirmation email, or just the itinerary?

Cheers,

Danny

Yep flights/hotels etc are all showing in Tripit itself fine.

I forward the whole email not just the itinery

This is my calendar entry:

"cxx_xx8 is in Sydney, Australia from Jan 30 to Feb 2, 2012

Hmm... Maybe it's something about how the calendar program is reading it... What calendar program are you using? Importing a .ics file into iCal worked for me, and so did linking to a tripit calendar from a bunch of different things.

You've got to set your hometown I think... Also, it depends on how you book your tickets. I live in HBA, but basically mostly travel to ADL. lately, I've been booking ADL-HBA instead of vv. Now when I'm home it tells me Im in HBA, not ADL, if that makes any sense?

FWIW, I think tripit is brilliant. A great easy way too keep track of all flights.

Fixed!

Under settings - publishing your data you need to click "include detailed items in calendar feed"

All good now Thanks all.
