Just thinking about this today. Since you can now upgrade from saver booking to business, what do you think of the idea of being able to upgrade using platinum comp upgrades for double the amount (than currently for a flexi fare) from a saver fare? Seems like a win win to me.

I think it'll depend on loadings. It seems to me, VA are filling the J seats fairly consistently of late (from which method, I'm unsure). I've booked paid J seats a number of months out and found on a few occasions, only a few seats from which to choose. That tends to suggest they may not wish to alter much more.

Sorry just to clarify – do you mean on Flexis, 1 comp = 1 business seat, and on Saver, 2 comps = 1 business seat?

Or do you mean a point supplement on Saver bookings in addition to the comp upgrade?

Double upgrade comps for Saver so you're right in what you write. Flexible fare costs so much now.

I definitely agree. Would make the (limited) Plat benefit more useful.

In fact, while we're at it, the comp upgrades could go up to 8 so that we'd get 4x comps from saver, helping provide a greater distinction from SG.

I have a few more ideas of my own, now that I think about it...

SG don't get any comp upgrades, so I can't see why WP would be given 8. I like the idea though

I would definitely like to see the option to for using 2 upgrades from a Saver to Business seat introduced. While I am fortunate to be able to choose who I fly with, my employer insists that I purchase the cheapest possible fare.

Bring it on Virgin !

Cheers
Dave.

How do we suggest this formally?
