Can someone enlighten me about why two of the three QF carousels in BNE are not in use?

Coming back from CNS last nite there was a major scrum around one carousel servicing 3 or 4 flight numbers with the other two dead as maggots. The scrum gets about 6-8 deep around the entire length and elbows have been deployed.

This happened about a fortnite ago but seems to be a permanent "Welcome to Brisbane - your luggage is still trying to find you"

Any non Cityflyer luggage found on a cityflyer carousel or sunstate carousel will spontaneously ignite perhaps

Downside of dedicated carousels. PER suffered this a lot when they had two operating. If MEL and SYD came in together, as they used the same carousel.

Could it also be that the bags arrive driven on a truck, and there is only one crew working to unload them so they just unload at the one carousel.

How hard can it be to press "Carousel 2" button, or is it only the handlers who've successfully completed Button Pushing 101 Course allowed this serious task?

Can't comment on BNE but biut airports i have seen they have different loading bays for the trucks etc so you would have to move yourself 20 meters to the left or right and direct the next truck there.
I still think its still, was just wondering if that was possibly the reason.
