If I cancel an Upgrade Request. Then I get request it again?

I have a upcoming SYD-DFW flight and I already have a PE seat, but when requesting an upgrade to J I selected upgrade to PE if J is unavailable and I don't want to waste 50k of points on a seat I already have.

Of course, that strategy requires a row 29/30 skybed "PE" seat still being available when the upgrade may come through.

I believe you can cancel and re-request online at no cost.

(IMHO, I don't believe time of request is a factor in the pecking order any more.)

Really? What makes you think that, status being "equal" (plat v plat, gold v gold)?

Having posted that, it would not surprise me if a PAX's PCV is taken into account, rather than "booking class" these days.
