I cannot decide what to do, so any feedback or opinions would be gratefully accepted.

SFU:
QF Club member until Nov 2006
Bronze QFF
About 200K points in the bank
QF SYD-BKK, CX BKK-BOM, BA BOM-LHR, AA LHR-JFK-SFO, QF SFO-SYD, all L fare, departing January

Mrs SFU:
Only about 20K points
QF SYD-FRA, EI FRA-DUB-LHR, QF LHR-SYD, all on O fare pre Xmas, then same RTW fare as above starting in January

I don't know whether to: a) enrol Mrs SFU in AA Gold or Plat Challenge and (hopefully) enjoy greater status on our RTW fare commencing January, b) enrol myself for AAPlatCh as well or c) just squirrel away all our points to our QF accounts and blow 'em all later on a couple of F award flights

As our RTW tickets are open-ended for 365 days from departure and we'll be free of work obligations, I don't know whether we'll qualify for AAPlat or even Gold in the required time frame.

Help me, oh Wise Ones!

If you are not going to complete the AA challenge, then just stick with your current Qantas FF program. Try to set the date for the SFO-SYD as soon as you can and pool all your points and waitlist for an upgrade.
